January Coloring Contest

Postby Scribs » Tue Jan 10, 2006 1:09 pm

Sorry for the delay on this months contest folks.
The Line art this month has been provided by Shao-Feng-Li, and I for one think it looks great. You people should really be able to make this one into somthing fantastic.

The rules are the same as always: You can color the line art using any medium you want, interpert the picture any way you want, and be as creative as you want, as long as when you are finished we can tell that it is the same line art you started with.

The deadline for this month is Monday the 30th. This gives you all about 2 and a half weeks. Get to it!

(oh and could a mod move this to the contest forum? Thanks.)

Very awesome art Shao. I could happily spend the next two weeks polishing this, but that would be bad for me to do. So here it is. It's super early, but it'll keep me from obsessing about this image while so many others await my attention.

P.S. I tried to stay in keeping with your typically bright color schemes, however, I indulged my darker side on the cloak.

(Here it is! Thank goodness this is off my to-do list before Tuesday. The 20th, eh? I'll still be at Masters then. I'll have to steal Kelsey's computer to see who won and all the other entries. ^_^)

Nice image ree namuras...I see we think alike in some respects....I almost put a night sky in mine too. The coloring is impressively clean.

Shao, was the character supposed to be male or female? I thought the mouth was closed and hense those were lips, but ree interpretted it as teeth, which I think looks more correct. Guess I spent way more time thinking about the clothes than the face. ^_^;;

Yeah that's a guy ^_^; And those are suposed to be teeth. Heh. But I kinda like the idea of him having painted lips when he becomes a bad guy in a story.

(My wonderful business partner Miss Mollie Cline gets credit for all the color design not counting the face and the hair. 'Twas her idea to do the starscape.)

(What, oh what, would I do with Mollie?)

Sadly I don’t think I will be competing in this months contest.
I will be fallowing the progress though.

Good job to Esoteric, ree namuras and Vernhal.

Yes, just because it is your art doesnt mean you could not enter your colored version. If I am not mistaken Olorc once subittend art, made an entry and also won, all in the same month (in addition to running the contest) so you have no problem.
