Twilight Poetry

Postby Anison Twilight » Fri Apr 30, 2004 2:46 pm

I've been writing poetry a lot recently and I decided to post it here. Ummm...It kinda gets a little morbid, I don't know why, so, just warning you. I hope you enjoy.

LIFE, DEATH, & TIME

I'm falling in time.
The timing of rhyme.
The falling of eternity.
It feels like falling eternally.

Too many things are on my mind.
Too many times when life is unkind.
But that is what life is.
The breath of life that's God's first kiss.

Sometimes I wish life was not so complex.
I wish I could, this life, annex.
So many deaths shown to cold hearts.
Almost as if death is an art.

I'm watching black snow now.
I know it's black, I don't know how.
It mixes with cherry blossoms red.
The colors of the lifeless dead.

THE WARRIOR'S LAST WORDS

The swords clashed as darkness grew,
Their feet of ash, their clothes ash too.
They disappear as their speed is matched,
In their spirit's deadly clash.
They fly to fight one another,
Showing their hate for each other.
They hold each other at swords length,
Trying to best the other's strength.
They are matched, but know not that,
They keep fighting like dog and cat.
They break apart in disarray,
Causing sparks to display.
They gasp, huff, and wheeze for breath
As they play this game of death.
The one mutters words of hate
As the other begins a different spate.
They jump into the air as if,
To them flight is but a gift.
They reach each other in midair,
Their swords slashing with deadly flair.
As they land, one continues to fall
And listens silently to his judgement call.
The victorious turns, sheathing his sword.
He opens his ears for his opponent's last word.
As crimson life flows freely out
he says to not die in regret or doubt.

TODAY IS NOT MY DAY FOR WORDS

Spoken words go unsaid.
How I wish my toungue not fled.
Today is not my day for words.

A friend's murder could have been stopped,
and ally's sentence could have been dropped.
Today is not my day for words.

I could have fixed another's heart.
Instead of healing I made it smart.
Today is not my day for words.

Now I stand here and I cry
for my friend who, today, did die.
I could have stayed the killer's hand,
but my toungue was tied, I could not stand.
Today was not my day for words.

So as I pick up this cold gun,
and point it at me, my father's son,
I remember all the times that I
could have spared you from your cry.
But then I go on to think
of how my words made your soul sink.
Of all the words I could have said...
and soon we will both be dead.

But then, my life was never one of words.

PS: I do NOT condone suicide. Sorry, but when I wrote this stuff it came to me I didn't really control it. It was in my head and demanded to be on paper. Ummm...Yeah...I am a little disturbed by the fact that there was suicide involved, but...sorry. Anyway post comments please.

Oo, those are good! Siren ought to see these...
In a world shrouded in mystery, the winds of change begin to blow.

Well I'll be posting some more stuff within the next day or two because when I went to "nerd camp" we had classes that we could sign up for. Mine was creative writing. I cranked out about twenty poems. So wooohooo. Poetry barrage to come, but I have some other stuff to update first. <.< >.> Yeah.

Ummm...Sorry for the delay. Here's that barrage I was warning you about:

GRANDPA

The grainy wood of well-worn oak,
It fills my throat with a froggy croak.
The carved pews of a small church
Causes my heart, nay soul, to lurch.
I remember back to that sad day
When I could hear my tears say,
"He's never coming back, this one of yours.
Why do you weep? His words were burrs."
I could still smell the burning smoke,
As he burned trash and drank cold coke.
The gruff manner he'd treated me with,
Now it seems to be but a myth.
I faded back to reality then,
And walked up to his casket when
I saw his face, his fake grin.
"He'll never smile like that again."
My hand reached out to his cold face,
And his smile I did erase.
I'll never forget that last touch.
For, to me, it meant to much.

WOLF HUNT

Snowy winter gathers in the forest.
The pale, glistening light of the moon
shines down on a wolfish pack.
They greet each other with a cry,
then follow signs to begin their hunt.
The lead wolf finds the scent

of the prey. The wolves' scent
brings peace to the forest
as the trees quiet to watch the hunt.
The sky beams down. The moon,
as a jewel, causes the wolves to cry
as they long for it to show the pack

where they will gorge. A rival pack
finds the most unwanted scent
of future blood, forcing a cry
from the spectator animals of the forest.
They tremble in the shadow of a dark moon
to think of the new hunt

as these predators look to hunt
each other. A race to find the other pack
begins for every wolf under the moon.
The wolves rush until the scent
of the rival pack is close by in the forest.
They echo a horrible, deathly cry

as the trees and wind cry
to them to stop this mad hunt
that will bring rivers of blood through the forest.
But, none the less, the pack
won't heed anything but the scent
of their foes. The darkened moon

looks down to see a red moon
reflect in the blood of the wolves who cry
as they fight one another. Their scent
can be found by the dogs of people who hunt
for sport. Then a shot at the pack
rings out from deep within the forest.

A silent poacher begins his hunt
for the body of the head wolf that now did cry
for dieing by the hand of something not of the forest.

FLU

I snivvle and sneeze.
It's hard to bweave.
My nose is all wed.
I can't veel my head.
I've used up five bocthes
of Keenecth tithue.
I'm out of of cough drops.
I'm sick with the flu.

MISTLETOE

Mischievious plant,
With leaves of green.
Hanging above,
Only partly seen.
For lovers you are
A blessing made,
For them to kiss
In your small shade.
But I, yes I,
What about me?
For I know no one
To kiss me with glee.
I cringe when I pass.
You scare me by far.
I hope I don't get
emotionally scarred.

LUCKY GUESS

Four little paws,
When it should have three.
It hides in a forest
Of others like he.
If he could be found,
Him would they pluck,
For owning this thing
Would bring them good luck.

SMB3 MARIMATO!

The king of Mario flies through 2 stages.
1 minute! Dang! I haven't played this in ages.
Raccoon now, 2 flutes in hand.
2 minutes down. This is just grand!
Worlds one to eight, 3rd minute's began.
He's getting lives just for some fun!
Still on this level, 4th minute too.
He beat the boss like he was tying his shoe.
Another sidescroller and this one's a ship.
5th minute! He's giving them all the slip!
Fire man now. Minute? 6.
Skipped over more levels with his quick wits.
In the sky now. Minutes are 7.
Bopping Monty's head on a ship up in heaven.
Fireing at everyone.
No one is spared, not even the sun.
Castles are beaten in no time flat.
The tanks must be traversed after that.
99 lives aquired with ease.
1 more minute, just one more, please!
The last minute and what do we have?
Why it's bowser getting a fire bath.
I can't believe it. That was fun to see.
Marimato you make it look easy!

I know it's been a long time, guys, but I've been busy. So here is some new stuff that I have written and I think you may like. Also, sorry if I'm grave digging by pushing this up to the front.

A Christmas Card

The Christmas season arrives at last.
Another year has flown by fast.
A time of snow, a time of cheer.
A time of friends and family near.
Mistletoe and Christmas trees,
Stockings, stars, nativities.
So when you're sipping hot cocoa,
Or building a man out of snow,
Remember me in this joyous time,
And don't forget about this rhyme:
Mistletoe is up above.
Don't be shy and share the love.

When the Year Ends and Realization Hits

Silent night is sung in tears,
As by goes half of Senior year.
May all our Alleilujahs follow,
Fleeting breaths are hard to swallow.
Then hugs around to seniors all
In the quickly emptying hall.
And as the love is passed around,
No hug for me can e'er be found.
'Til one sweet soul turns to me,
And we embrace quite happily.
I thank thee Kate for that hold.
Though is was short my heart cajolled.
Words can't describe my gratitude
For your kind and caring attitude.
Though one hug was all I aquired,
Because of you it was all I desired.

A Nerd's Thoughts To His Crush

or

♥wned

I'm really not a pro at this.
I've ne'er had a real first kiss.
I'd hoped that it would be with you,
But I know that dream won't come true.
When I first thought I'd a chance
We went and watched some actors dance.
As inanimate objects do
They talked of Beast and Beauty, too.
A fair time was had, it seemed, by all.
The only time that I could call,
For show and money got in the way:
Lack of lucre and hectic play.
And when I'd finally worked up the nerve,
The path on which I walked did swerve.
So now my goal, it has been marred.
Now my confidence has been scarred.
And now I've things I will not show,
Like a drawing of us 'neath mistletoe.
This poem will never, to you, be shown.
All because my heart got ♥wned.
I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.

Your poems are very good. I notice you have a ryhme sceame in you poems that is perrty neat
Tis No Fool to lose what he can not keep to gain what he can never lose.
What does it profit a man to gain the World yet lose his soul.
Choose Life that you Might live.
