Alright this poem was an assignment. I was to write an ode to a person who died before my time so I choose myself. Also, it does not imply anyone on CAA. It implies my class mates.

The Death of Myself

You all know me in some form or way,
Through school or family or technology.
But do you really know me?
Who I am?
What I like?
What I hate?
The answer is No.
You don't know me.
Little by little,
Through neglect and being ignored,
I die inside.
The happy youth from years gone past is no more,
A hollow shell of what I once was.
This is your doing.
You did nothing to help me.
You all divided and left no room for me.
I had to find my solitude in being who don't understand me,
Solitude in a machine with mulitple purposes,
Solitude in worlds of fantasy that can never be real.
You believe me an oddity,
An outcast,
A shadow.
This is my ode to myself.
This is the work you have wrought, by doing nothing.

Why must we be abandoned in times of need?
Do others not see when we yearn for their touch;
An insatiable hunger only they can feed.
Left alone with out their words – fallen into darkness.
Stumbling blindly without their light,
We fall and scream, knowing we've faced too much,
Knowing the only answer is flight.
Flight from the lives we once faced
And the joys and terrors others have brought.
Our time with them, a time of joy and life,
Wonder we all, was it for naught?

You have an interesting poem, but there is one line that did not make sense to me:

I had to find my solitude in being who don't understand me,
God has called me to mission work in Paraguay and Brazil. I may return to CAA someday. God bless all of you!

[i]Two vast and trunk-less legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare the lone and level sands stretch far away. On the pedestal these words are inscribed:

“My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!â€
